Preview what customers will see
Preview order page draws the customer's order page from your real settings, including changes you have not saved yet. Find it on Features, and on most feature pages. It is the fastest way to check a setting did what you expected, without placing a test order.
Open it
On the Features page, select Preview order page. You get the whole order page.
On a feature page, the preview shows just that feature's part of it.
Use the Preview picker to switch between Whole order page and any single feature — item edits, address edits, cancellation, returns, invoices, surveys, upsell, and the rest.
There is also Preview invoice portal, which draws the separate invoices page in a customer's account.
It tells you when something is off
The preview does not quietly show nothing. It explains:
- "This feature is off, so customers won't see it." — Turn the feature on
- "The invoice portal is off, so customers won't see this page." — Turn on the portal
- "Your plan doesn't include invoice downloads." — Upgrade
- "Turn this on to let customers edit orders sent by local delivery." — Local delivery editing is off
That makes it a diagnostic, not just a picture.
What it does not check
The preview ignores app blocks. It shows what a feature would look like if it were on the page. It does not tell you whether the block is actually there.
So a feature can look perfect in the preview and be invisible to customers. Always check the banner on the Features page too.
It also ignores targeting. An upsell offer appears in the preview regardless of who it is aimed at.
Good to know
Unsaved changes are included. Toggle a setting, look at the preview, and decide before saving. Nothing reaches customers until you save.
It uses realistic order data, so the layout matches what a real customer gets.
Returns preview differently. The order page shows only the button — select it to walk through the return steps, which open on their own page.
Preview is not a test order. For anything involving money, holds or your warehouse, place a real test order.
Troubleshooting
- A feature is missing from the preview — Why: It is off — Fix: Turn it on and look again
- It looks right but customers see nothing — Why: The app block is missing — Fix: Check the banner on Features
- The invoice portal preview is empty — Why: The portal is off, or not in your plan — Fix: Check both
- An upsell shows in preview but not live — Why: Preview ignores targeting and blocks — Fix: Check the offer's placement and its block
- Returns show only a button — Why: Expected — the steps open on their own page — Fix: Select the button
- The preview will not open — Why: The page did not finish loading — Fix: Reload and try again
FAQ
Does the preview use my real settings?
Yes, including changes you have not saved. It is what customers would get if you saved now.
Can I trust it?
For settings, yes. It does not check whether the app block is on the page, and it ignores upsell targeting.
Do I still need a test order?
For anything involving payment, holds, or your warehouse, yes. Preview shows the page, not the process.
Why does the returns preview only show a button?
That is what the order page shows. Selecting it opens the return steps on their own page.
Can I preview the invoice portal?
Yes, with Preview invoice portal. It draws the separate invoices page in a customer's account.
