No. Installation does not modify your theme. You choose when to enable widgets or theme app extensions.

2. Do customers immediately see order-editing options after installation?

Not yet. You must enable the widget on the Order Status Page or customer account page. (That setup is covered in a separate article.)

3. Can staff members access the app too?

Yes, anyone with permission to view apps in Shopify Admin can access Account Editor.

The Order Editing Window allows merchants to define how long customers have to make changes to their order after purchase.
This prevents errors, gives customers flexibility, and helps merchants avoid unnecessary cancellations or support tickets.

Dependencies:

This setting is global – it applies to all orders in the store.
It connects with customer notifications (emails like Order Edited and Time left to edit) to keep customers informed.
Works together with discounts, invoicing, cancellation reasons and many more, as edits are only possible within this timeframe.

When timeframe is set:

Customers can edit their orders (e.g., change address, update items, cancel order, add discount) within the selected time limit.
The timer starts immediately after purchase.
Example: If set to 15 minutes, the customer has 15 minutes post-purchase to make any changes.

If you use Account Editor to allow shoppers to edit orders after checkout, here’s how to delay dispatch via DPD Fulfilment so you get full control before fulfilment begins. Follow the three sections below to align edit windows, payment holds, and your fulfilment workflow.

Setup steps

Step 1: Configure Account Editor

Go to Settings › Timeframe › Edit timeframe settings in Account Editor.
Set Edit window to 30 minutes.
Under Order hold & revert settings, enable:
Enable order holds
Reverse unpaid order edits

What this does: When a shopper edits and increases the order total, the order is placed on payment hold. If payment is not received within 30 minutes, Account Editor automatically reverts the order to its original state.

Step 2: Configure DPD Fulfilment delay

In DPD Fulfilment go to Settings › General Settings › Delay period.
Set Delay period to 31 minutes.

Why: This ensures DPD only receives orders after the 30‑minute edit window ends. Any edits or unpaid changes won’t slip through once fulfilment picks up the order.
