CartRover order sync for post-purchase edits

If you use CartRover (Extensiv) to send orders to your 3PL, you may want to delay order transmission so customers can edit orders within Account Editor before fulfillment begins.

This guide helps you hold orders automatically until the edit window ends.

How it works

  1. A Shopify Flow adds a "HOLD" tag when the order is created.

  2. It will then remove the "HOLD"tag after your chosen edit window (e.g., 60 minutes).

  3. CartRover skips orders with the "HOLD"tag.

  4. When the tag is removed, the order syncs in the next import cycle.

Let us now see, how can this be done.

Step 1: Create "HOLD" tag logic in Shopify Flow

This Flow automatically adds "HOLD" tag and removes it after your chosen edit window.

Flow logic:

  • Go to Admin → Apps → Flow → Create Workflow.

  • Select a Trigger: Shopify → Order Created

  • Action: Add order tag → HOLD

  • Wait: 60 mins

  • Action: Remove order tag → HOLD

Step 2: Configure CartRover to skip HOLD orders

Path inside CartRover:

Carts → Your Shopify Store → Edit Setup → Shopify Cart Setup → Order Filters

Apply settings:

Setting

Value

Filter Orders By Order Tags

Yes

Only Load Order If It

Does Not Contain Any One of Following Tags

Filter Order Tags

HOLD

Step 3: Set sync frequency

Set Order Download to Every 10 minutes

Result

Orders stay editable for your chosen window (e.g., 60 mins).

After the tag is removed, CartRover syncs them automatically.
