Product Modules
What Product Modules Do
The Product Modules section controls which products or collections appear in your upsell and how they’re displayed to the customer.
Each upsell offer can include one or multiple “modules,” which act as building blocks inside the widget.
You can reorder them by dragging and dropping — the first module in the list will always appear first to the shopper.

Step-by-Step Setup
1️⃣ Open Product Modules
Scroll to the Product Modules section on your Upsell Offer creation page.
You’ll see a list of available block types:
- Single Product
- Group Products
- Recent Product
- Abandoned Checkouts
2️⃣ Add a Product Block
Click Add next to any module you want to include.
Each type works differently depending on your strategy:
🧩 Module 1: Single Product
Spotlight one key product as a focused upsell.
How to use:
- Click Add › Single Product.
- Choose a product from your Shopify catalog.
- Save your selection.
📸 : “Single Product selection window with catalog view.”
Best for:
- Premium add-ons or upgrades (e.g., “Add the leather case”).
- Simple one-click upsells with clear value.
🧠 Tip: Pick products with high margins or that naturally complement what customers already bought.
🧩 Module 2: Group Products
Show a curated bundle or small collection of products.
How to use:
- Click Add › Group Products.
- Select multiple products or a prebuilt Shopify collection.
- Use drag handles to control order within the group.
Best for:
- “Buy the look” or “Complete the set” offers.
- Bundles like “Gloves + Scarf + Hat.”
🧠 Tip: Group items that share a common theme or season to make choices easier for the customer.
🧩 Module 3: Recent Product
Automatically recommend items based on what the shopper recently viewed or bought.
How it works:
- Account Editor uses Shopify’s session data to suggest recent items.
- No manual setup is needed — just enable the module.
- Works well for returning customers revisiting their order page.
Best for:
- Re-engaging repeat buyers.
- Cross-selling within the same product category.
🧠 Tip: Great on the Order Status page, where returning customers are already thinking about related items.
🧩 Module 4: Abandoned Checkouts
Re-engage customers by showing items they previously left in their cart.
How to use:
- Add the Abandoned Checkouts module.
- The widget automatically displays previously viewed or unpurchased items.
Best for:
- Capturing lost revenue opportunities.
- Encouraging customers to complete unfinished purchases after checkout.
🧠 Tip: Pair this with a gentle discount (5–10 %) for maximum recovery.
3️⃣ Prioritize Your Modules
Use Drag & Drop Priority Management to reorder modules.
- Modules at the top appear first to customers.
- You can reorder anytime by dragging.
- Use analytics data later to refine your order based on performance.
Why Product Modules Matter
- 🎯 Personalization: Tailor offers to customer behavior and order context.
- 💸 Upsell variety: Mix single, grouped, and dynamic recommendations.
- ⚙️ Automation: Recent and Abandoned modules update automatically.
- 📊 Flexibility: Reorder modules based on conversion data — no developer needed.
Real-World Examples
Store Type | Module Setup | Result |
|---|---|---|
Apparel | Single Product (“Add socks for 15 % off”) | +22 % add-on rate |
Electronics | Group Products (Accessory bundle) | +18 % AOV increase |
Beauty | Recent Product (last viewed items) | Re-engagement from repeat buyers |
Home Décor | Abandoned Checkouts (unfinished items) | Recovered lost sales |
Common Mistakes
❌ Adding all four modules at once — creates clutter.
❌ Using unrelated bundles — confuses buyers.
✅ Keep upsell options limited to 1–3 high-converting products.
